Hi shipmates
I've been looking at some of those fantastic photos of other HMS Victory models out there on the internet and one thing is noticable above all.
On our build, the decks go up through a series of steps starting at the forecastle it steps down to the waist deck then up a level to the quarter deck and up once more to the poop deck. This follows what I have seen in other photos, but in our build the deck steps up by 3 planks high from the waist to the quarter deck and yet another 3 planks high to the poop deck, but in the pics I have seen of the other models and of the real ship herself, the step up from the quarter deck to the poop appears to be little more than 1 (one) plank in height.
I am hoping that someone on the forum could enlighten me as to why there appears to be such a difference on our build.
Thanks
Daffy09

if you read the instructions it said the planks and frames will be trimed to the right hight when the inner planks are fitted and the decks have still have to be fitted

Got that Willie
Just seems weird that we have to build up so much if its only got to be trimmed back down later. Seems like a waste of materials. Thanks.
