Morning all
I have just received a replacement antennae but this is warped too.
Starting to think it is supposed to be like this?
It bends, noticeably, 1/3 from the top towards the front of the aircraft.
Any ideas?
Thanks all
Regards.

Will it not gently bend vertical?

As its now snapped, if you use epoxy to set the two halves in the vertical position, and when fully set/cured, carefully file/fill the joint. It should look better and once painted the joint won't be seen. Failing that, get hold of another replacement, its possible we could have a few rogues of this casting.

Hi
I tried to manipulate the replacement but this snapped too.
I'll contact Deagostini again for another replacement.
I'm not comfortable gluing this as I don't want any problems in the future and not only that it's more work!
Thanks for your reply.
Regards.

Hi Alan sorry to hear of your problem, is it the radio antennae or the smaller wing antennae. If it was me by now I would try to make one and see how it turns out while you are waiting for a replacement. Hi Trev
It's the radio antennae.
Thank you for your suggestion, however I'm not in a position to make one and whilst I'm not one to complain, I do feel I shouldn't need to given that I am paying for the model in the first place.
I'm not going to create a song and dance about it, it's one of those things that happen from time to time so I guess I'll just have to wait for a straight one!
Have a good weekend
Regards.

Hi
Just had my fourth antennae delivered and low and behold, warped!
Help.
I've tried to straighten it but after the other 3 snapped I'm not going to force this one.
Regards.

C/S have informed that other than your 4 replacement requests, we've only received a single request for replacement, therefore can only suggest that you request another, though seems likely you'll receive the exact same unless we receive a new batch and no guarantee they will be any different because they will be cast in the same mould. A new batch won't be for many months as we have good stock and there is considerable lead time.
Possibly temporarily fit the one you have then look to swopping it when a new batch arrives, or don't fit until a new batch arrives. In the meantime I have raised this with the production team to take a look.

Thank you.
What I will attempt is to apply extremely gentle heat.
I'll post my results.

Hi Mr T
applied very gentle heat and it was successful. The top 2.5mm snapped off but it's not noticeable.
Whilst it is not perfect it is acceptable now so my advice to anyone else is gentle heat and gentle manipulation with a pair of pliers.
Regards.
