Hi everyone,

I bought a full d51 kit from a model shop in Lancaster the other day and have just checked all the parts are there to find that stages 93 to 100 are missing. This would be packs 24 and 25. I have emailed the shop tonight and will call tomorrow but just wondered if worst comes to worst if anyone knows how I would go about ordering these packs from deagostini?

It would be great to get any advice on this.

Thanks
Cheers
Peter

Hi Peter, your contract of sale lies with the Shop/Seller and it is down to the Shop to provide the missing parts packs.

Any reason why you did not purchase the kit via our D51 webpage as likely it would be less costly as no doubt the Shop have applied a profit mark-up to sell it and have they provided the instructions for it?

Hi Mr T

Thanks for the heads up. I bought it from the shop as I was told it was complete and it was a good price. I have a full instruction manual for it. Is it possible to buy individual packs from deagostini if I need to?

Thanks
Cheers

Something odd as to why they would sell it at a "good price" which is less than the site cost, which might reflect why it has missing content and possibly they gave up at 23.

I suggest you pursue this with the seller as the orginal sale was with the seller and ourselves, therefore it should be the seller that gets this put right for you or at least provide you with proof of purchase info.

We do not have D51 spares listed for sale as such, we only offer replacement of damaged or missing parts, which if you are not the original buyer, we cannot offer this.

On looking into this, I'm told that the "full kit" this model retailer in Lancaster had for sale, was for sale on eBay and also has a second completed D51 for sale at the shop.

Which if its the same kit sold to you then its very much a case of buyer beware with most things purchased on eBay. But that's not to say you don't have any recourse with the seller if your kit was sold as a full kit..

You might be lucky enough to find what you need on eBay

I've had two situations like this when grabbing full partworks off of ebay. In both cases it turned out the seller had forgotten to pack in the missing issues/packs. After advising the seller I always received the missing issues a few days later.

Thanks everyone for the input. Thanks tomick for your comments.

I am in the process of having it worked out and have been told the missing items will be with me by the start of next week.

Fingers crossed that's the end of the matter but only time will tell.
Cheers

I have been building the D51 for the last two years and have received no parts since part 22 at beginning of February. This was a month late. I have sent loads of emails to customer services and the ones they replied to stated they were forwarding my complaint to the correct department. So I have a nearly finished model with case which without the last three parts making the model worthless. I am hoping you may be able to help

I'm in a similar position - up to part 18 and then nothing for a couple of months. I checked with customer support and the said 'out of stock' awaiting new stock.
Given we are getting the C-57 it makes me nervous in case they are dropping the D-51 for the C-57 and won't be getting new stock for the D-51.
Any one able to clarify if it's going to be restocked or not?

Also, if they are getting in new stock for the D-51, why isn't the permanently 'out of sock' Zero getting any new stock?
Cheers
Stuntie.

C57 is a new release which has nothing to do with the D51 stock situation.
It can take 12-16 weeks for more stock as manufacturers do not sit on stock and its generally a 12 week minimum.

We still have odd Zero packs left and a few engines but no full kits hence o/s and is not going to be re-stocked.
