Hi Shipmates, I would like some advice please, I'm planning to paint my Victory and are seeking some advice about the interior painting. I've just assembled my lower gun deck and assume that this will be the best time to start with the painting. I would also like some advise about the interior colours, and what to do about the decks... all the questions Some of the posts seem to suggest painting the decks red??? What about the deck in the cut out section? shouldn't that part of the deck that you can see be planked as well?? Thank you

Good morning The best reference for the colours is: Official Victory siteMost of the decking was left in natural wood and holystoned daily by rubbing down with large blocks of stone and then swilling off with sea water. The one exception was the orlop deck which was painted dull red ochre -- not to hide the blood as the romantics suggest but simply because red lead paint was the cheapest and most easily available in the dockyards. The orlop deck below the waterline is not going to be visible at all on your model. Cheers Mike T

Painting information is being provided in the magazine at the right point in relation to the build, which takes into considertion items not yet complete.
