Great job Andy, I didn't actually know that the chains were anti RPG, it always puzzled me what they were for when I saw them LOL

Hi All

More done, the upper hull surfaces of many modern tanks has an anti slip type grit placed on the hull I have seen on utube people using beach sand to get this effect but to me it looks too big and out of scale. Tamiya have started doing Diorama textured paint so I got hold of a pot of there Grit effect light sand thinned it down and used that to get the effect, once the griting was dry the hull was sprayed with IDF green [ I know it looks brown in the pics] but then had a miss-hap with the paint by dropping the pot and loosing most of it to the floor gremlins. More paint is on order.
The Turret now has had all its detail added apart from the grit and the machine guns so the Main gun was made up and then both sprayed with Israeli sand surface primer. The turret is still a little wet in the pic's. More soon.

Thanks everyone for looking in and your comments.

The paint has been dispatched so im just awaiting its arrival.

Until it arrives this build will be on hold but I managed to give the turret its anti slip coating.

The last couple of pic's show the barrel dry fitted to the turret and then on the hull. More soon.

Hi All

The paint finally arrived on Friday so the hull has been sprayed along with the turret. the wheels were than added apart from the front drive wheels as there is little room to fit the tracks here with them fitted. all the side armour has had the etch springs added and sprayed up. Spent most of this afternoon cutting track links from casting blocks they provide 4 sets around 100 mm long for each side and the rest are singles and its the preparing of each one that takes time. More soon.

Andy

Looking very nice indeed. The choice of material to get the anti slip surface has worked very well indeed.

Happy Modelling

Thanks everyone for your comments, I wasnt sure if the anti slip would work out but when compared to the shots of the full size one I have its looks about right so im quite happy with the result now.
