Hi Everyone,

Many thanks for your kind words.

Here is my latest update, all upper panels fitted to fuselage now, I have a problem with the over wing panels in that there is a tapering gap between them. Still thinking about the best way to deal with this and not sure that I have enough spare panels to remake them. Anyone else had the same problem?

Thank you everyone for you interest and comments.

Trev I have at the moment put filler in the gap and will see how it looks when sanded down, I am concerned about replacing the panels as I may cause a lot of unwanted damage as this CA Gel really sticks well. Your policy of using screws is probably the right thing when problems occur.

Picture shows starboard side but is virtually the same on the port side I think that perhaps I should have shaved off a lot more of the formers underneath and increased the curvature.

I will send another picture when I have cleaned it up.

Alec,

This is a difficult part with all the curves and trying to get it all to match up,but looking at your picture if it was me I would cut another panel the smaller one, but as for the gap, if you are painting your Spit with primer and paint it may hold in, only time will tell, depending on what type of filler you use, but this is only a very small gap Alec and with paint it would be hard to see.

Regards

Trev.

Hi Alec

I had the same problem. I made a new one and with a bit of filing and patience it fitted perfectly!

Looking good though.

Regards.

Hi Everyone,

Well I have sorted the over wing panels remade three of them and the final picture shows where I am at the moment.
Still a little more to do before I get the paint going.
