Thank you for your comment, always nice to get feedback. I just wish the paint would hurry up.
I haven't quite finished the cockpit yet, you'll notice the harness is missing.
I am trying to track down a Sutton harness (in 1/12th of course) and if I can't I'm going to attempt to make it myself.

Hello Alan, I don't think you'll find one in 1:12 scale, there just isn't the demand for it with the DeAg kit being the only Spitfire in that scale as far as I know, so highly unlikely that any aftermarket company would produce one for it? You will probably need to scratchbuild one in that case, but it shouldn't be too difficult. I have an 'Eduard' real fabric Sutton harness for my 1:32 Tamiya Spitfire Mk.IXc, which will be the same for a Mk.Vb, and which will include a detailed diagram of the individual components and where they go, which I will be happy to post up a photo or two for your reference if you should need it?

Thank you. Funny enough I was looking at this on-line lastnight.
I also found some modellers who have made their own in some ingenious ways.
Thank you also for the offer of the photos of which I am grateful but I found some diagrams with dimensions-also lastnight-so will study these and hopefully end up with the result I'm hoping for.

Hello all
Humbrol have come up trumps after providing me with two cans of spray paint
free of charge following the issue with the differing colours of the same paint.
Very impressed with their service. No quibble whatsoever, sent them a picture
and that was it-sorted. 10/10 for customer service.
Just thought I'd share that.

Hi Trev Indeed!It's nice to know there is still some good companies out there. Regards Alan This is where I'm at currently. Taking shape nicely. I'm applying the rivets-a painfully slow job, I'm then covering with paint and any blemishes or something out of place then rub down and do it again. After viewing several thousand Spitfire pictures from all angles and all types, with regard to the look of the way the panels fit then I believe I'm on the right road! Hi Alan, Those rivets look good, nice job. Are you following a camouflage diagram or doing your own thing? Looks like it's coming along nicely, well done. Alec Built: Bluenose, Arab Dhow, HMS Bounty, Hummer H1, D51, Spitfire,E type Jaguar.

I am loosely following the livery as per the Deagostini instructions
but have changed the pattern a little, based on looking at lots of photos
of real Spitfires.
Getting near the end now!

Thank you gentlemen for your comments.
Some of the rivets I've had to apply one by one! That is tiring!
However it will be worth it. What makes it harder is NOT making it look
too perfect.
I've copied some real life riveting i.e not perfectly straight or aligned,
so gives it that little bit of authenticity.
I've never been into weathering models-always preferred straight-out-of the factory look but I have to admit I am pleased with the way it's looking now.

I agree, the Union flag needs to be a little bigger in proportion to the roundel, as can be seen by the design of the 'RAF Ensign' on the official site here:

I note also from that site that the roundel doesn't have a white border, but I don't suppose it matters too much unless any inaccuracy might bother you personally?
