Newquay is the favourite to become the first spaceport outside America. It's being reported to be the favourite of six sites to be named in the Modern Transport Bill.

This is awesome, I'm sure to go there to watch a launch or two if this comes to a fruition. Although this will be space planes, the most mesmerizing vertical lift-offs are not planned.

I wonder if the price for a flight to space and back drops to affordable levels within my life... One of my biggest dreams :)

Happy building :-)

That would be amazing! I've been to Newquay airport a few times many years ago for the air displays when it was still RAF St Mawgan. The runway stops just short of the coast road with the sea just a couple of hundred yards beyond - watching space planes taking off over the cliffs would be fantastic.
(Even better with a ski jump and a Fireball XL5 sled system!!)

Will be a huge boost to the South West if they pull this off.
