I have been thinking about finish, It looks like there are four popular finishes, and a number of combinations; I am not yet decided myself but welcome peoples thoughts on this.

1 and 3 look the most elegant. 2 is "meh". 4 is a "bruahahahahahah".

I'm going to go with version 1 myself.

Well I agree with everybody on option 4 lol

I think I am being drawn to option two but exchanging the yellow for natural wood, but not fully decided yet

In my opinion, option 1 just the right mixture of wood and colour, option 2 too much colour, option 3 not enough colour, option 4 no ,just no.

Hello Jase.

I've just ordered this today too.

I think option 2, with the yellow/black bands looks the best, certain how I will most likely do mine.

Good luck :)

Hello "FifthAce", obviously I've suspended your old username, I am sure you are aware by now that we don't tolerate dual usernames on this forum lol

Good luck with your build.

Hi
Great choice but when are you going to finish all the builds you've started, or get underway those you've announced, your stash must resemble that of a model shop by now lol

Hi Eddie,

Now I have my model space set up again I will be able to start chipping away at them all again. It's just the way I work with several on the go, so that when I get a bit fed up with a bit I can change to somthing else. Fortunately model building is not a race but I do hope to compleat a few by the end of the year.

This particular build I am doing because it's been a long time since I built somthing along with the forum, so I will keep up with the build especially as my partner wants the finished model on show because she loves the look of it.

I am up and running...

First job for me was soaking the centre section of false keel overnight and then clamping flat for two days to try and straighten the warp, i still have a pit of warp put the keel is now even the warp is just at the false deck top and minor.

with the two keel pieces glued together I have mounted them in my build jig. The first rib is in placing the glue will be left to harden over night.

the other ribs have been dry fitted to check fit, upon which I found the fourth rib to be warped at one end. so I am going to have to soak that now then clamp it between two steel plates to see if I can straighten it.
