Nicely taking shape though a long way yet to go. Wonder how many will actually complete this kit inside 12 months as it would normally be a 140 week rollout.

Hi jase, looking really good.coming on a treat. Builds hms victory, suzuki gsx 1300 R hayabusa, honda C B 750, lamborghini countach L P 500 S, tamiya 1/16 rc full option tiger 1 tank,
built, Mclaren M P 4 - 23. Occre london tram,
Stash.airfix 1/24 mosquito. Diag Virginia schooner, tamiya 1/6 honda 750, tamiya 1/35 famo, tamiya 1/35 flak 88.

Now that I too have a Soleil Royal in hand, I'm going to go ahead and blatantly steal all of your ideas for this build. Not the thread caulking though, I need to stay sane a little bit longer. What I'm trying to say is your build is brilliant.

Be good to see your build log start Greyhawk now u have the parts. Just remember to put the frames in the correct places :D On the bench 1/350 Revell Tirpitz Platinum Edition (Pontos PE and Wooden deck) plus extra Eduard PE set and extra MK1 door sets.

Is that thread you are using between the planks? Looks like a very slow and tedious process but gives a really nice finished by the look of it.

Thanks all for looking in and the comments. Yes it is thread 0.25mm. it is a bit tedious but that is why i am doing the whole deck length in one go. this allows you to run a length of thread the full length of the deck in one go, with only the need to cut short lengths for the butt joints. about half an hour for one full length of planks, but you need to run two lengths of planks at a time to keep them straight, if that makes sense? All in all about 14 hours estimated to plank the full deck. As for sanity I spend my free time sat in an attic gluing tiny bits of wood, plastic and metal together, think everybody on this forum must have something loose somewhere, but that's just how I like it.
