hi willie
I have used a lot of iron on veneers in my job as a joiner by all means try it but you may find the glue is quite thick and you may not get a good joint between planks. and it may be a problem to see what your doing with a big iron in your way. i have found a site on ebay for walnut veneer 91.5cm*3.25cm*0.6mm i ordered 3 sheets and with postage it came to 4 pounds 47p have a look the site --- nantwich veneers ltd or member nvl2006 same postage however many items ordered good luck

Hi I thought about that idea a while back but there was some doubt as to the strength of the glue used and wether it would stay glued over time Hi Paul,
Its not something I've tried and I can't say I have seen it tried anywhere else.
In principle it sounds feasible, though the main factor is the glue on the reverse being up to the task which in essence it should be). The problem is that if it should start to release through the course of time it could be a major headache to sort out without it looking obvious.
If it were me, I would try on a test frame or smaller model before comitting it on an expensive model.
This was sent by way of reply to the same question
Thanks Paul
