Once upon a time, well April 2015 to be precise I purchased a 1:16 kit of the "Red Baron".

As there was no plane to go with the pilot the build never took off.

(PUN INTENDED)

To that end I have today purchased and collected not one but two planes for the little chap.

They are both the Hachette 1:8 scale Fokker DR1.

One is complete and un-built and the other half built with parts to complete.

May/may not build both not decided yet, but won`t be for some while which ever way it goes as to much on.

Will pop up a couple of pics when I`ve got them sorted.

Regards

Hi All,

Ok, have managed to sort one of the two kits.

The unbuilt complete kit came in a big plastic box.

This is the breakdown:

Loose parts as described below, not numbered.

Lots of magazines loose and no parts attached.(Parts 1 - 62)

Some magazines with parts attached.(Parts 63 - 100 with the exception of about seven odd parts where the mags and parts were separated).

Some things that are not relevant to the kit, but still in the box and two bags of bits totally unidentified.

So, over a few days I`ve sorted it to a level where it can be built.

Two minor parts were missing, but have managed to replace them from the second kit and ordered replacements from Ebay.

Cost to date:

Two kits £140

Collection £35 (fuel) - If I`d bought one kit and had it posted, postage would have been £20, so second kit would have cost just £15.

Two replacement parts have cost pennies short of £20

Total: approx £195 inc collection costs

Just a couple of pics of kit 1 (Complete/unbuilt).
