An interesting article Tom. I watched a docu.mentary about 'Operation Pluto' a few months back on SKY TV and found it a very fascinating programme? The pressure needed to pump the fuel along such a length of pipeline must have been quite significant to say the least?!

Another fine example of British eccentricity but it worked, very cleverly fooling the Jerries, as did those famous wood and canvas fake aircraft and the inflated rubber Sherman tanks placed in the fields of Kent and Sussex to fool them into thinking a huge armoured force was about to cross the channel with Calais as the invasion point!
Would love a Sherman bouncy castle in my back garden ... the kids wouldn't get a go on it!!
