Hello Everyone!
I finally got the 3 first packs from model-space and I am counting the days to start building my Victory. I will need help of course...!
I can start with a big question already. Should I use a DIY "jig" ? It looks good but I think it will be more difficult to handle the ship by doing so... does it help by making things more aligned?
Please help!

Yes a keel jig is advised as it will prevent building a 'banana' boat.

Great to have you aboard and you'll love building the Victory, she's a great kit and am sure you'll do the build proud. Hi Andre, glad to meet you.
Besides the official links, people are at all different stages and some will be just ahead of you and will already have hit the same problems you will.
The support on the forum is terrific and I would have struggled without the generous help offered here. Use it when ever you need to and remember, no problem is too trivial.
You have made a great decision, good luck on the build.

BTW, here is the jig I made and used for the upper planking. It did the job fine but keep an eye out for bends in the keel all the time as it MUST be corrected ASAP.  I also built this one for laying the lower planks and tiling. I am no carpenter but the were not difficult to knock together.

I am working on my tool/supplies list and I'd like to know if PVA is the type of glue to buy. Any ideas?

Which one? The second doesn't matter, it's the positioning of the clamps that has to be exact. Similarly with the first. This may be a little clearer.

H Peixe, most of my wooden ship building is done using Alphatic PVA but a good quality wood glue will suffice. I also use epoxy and CA for some areas such as metal castings.. Hope ths helps.
