This unique 1/72 scale cross-section of Admiral Nelson's flagship show's a slice of life on board the premier warship of the Georgian era, and is based on authoritative drawings and reference photographs of the real HMS Victory, to which special access for this project was granted by the Royal Navy.
The section spans the hold, orlop, three gun decks and cockpit/quarterdeck, and includes accurately modelled rib frames showing how these were built up.
Kit Content:
● Interior and exterior hull planking ● Decking, wooden gratings, companionway ladders & pump well ● Stub mast, chainwales, photo-etched brass grates & hammock cranes ● Die-cast metal chain pumps & elm-tree pumps ● Ship's ballast & die-cast metal Entry port canopies ● Provison barrels, Shot lockers & Cannonballs ● Four die-cast metal 32-pounder cannon with wooden gun carriages ● Four die-cast metal 12-pounder cannon with wooden gun carriages ● Gunners tools, Storage chests & Hammock netting ● Hammocks & mess tables ● Wooden buckets & Pillars ● Gun rigging ropes & tackle
Also includes a display stand and brass photo-etched HMS Victory nameplate.
Overall model dimensions: 325mm high (inc stub mast), 220mm wide, 87.5mm deep.
You can construct the cross-section as a natural wood finish, or finish with woodstain and paint to reflect its period colours (paint not included).
The pump well has an 'open view' section.
You also have the option to depict a 'day or night' crew quarters.
The assembly guide download contains clear, step-by-step instructions, accompanied by detailed photos and templates, to make building your model as easy as possible.

Looks a lovely kit, great if your short on space too as these can be put in special frames and wall mounted. Steve

It's definitely a great model and gives an insight into the below deck structure of a fighting warship from the past.

A very nice kit to build for people with limited space. Good to see it being released as a kit in it`s own right, rather than an additional part of the full ship. Nice idea. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

I feel that this full kit will give a new modeller into ship building a full insight before they take on a full period warship. Trev. Work in progress: Tombstone (Scratch) - San Francisco 2. -The Mayflower ( scratch by plan).

Trev. Good point Trev, it will indeed lessen what can be a baptism of fire of building a period ship by the novice modeller.

I might have this. I started it before but never got round to finishing and made a lot of mistakes as I was new to modelling. This time I will be able to make a much better job of it hopefully.

Enjoy!
It is by far the best and most accurate HMS Victory cross-section available, which is based on authoritative drawings and reference photos of the real Ship, to which special access for this kit was granted by the Royal Navy.

Are individual issues available? I seem to have lost the parts from 2 issues, 121 and 123. I'm hoping yes, otherwise will never be able to complete the kit.
