For goodness' sake. I have been watching this forum for a while now, both before and after beginning my Millennium Falcon build. I have been extraordinarily humbled by looking at the build diaries here. I am unashamed to say that I will probably be taking more from this forum than I give, but I'll try to contribute...

One of the first mods I made was to correct that awful battle wound on the bottom of the cockpit fusilage. A little putty, and a lot of sanding. tunko attached the following image(s):

I am using both the Paragrafix Cockpit and Hold modifications. After looking at the wonderful creativity you guys have demonstrated using the stock cockpit and scratch mods with LEDs and fiber optics, I am convinced I could have lived without the photoetched cockpit. But I did have fun with my vinyl cutter framing the cockpit door... tunko attached the following image(s):

I thought the Paragrafix hold floor was the most detailed, so I went with that. But that back corner of the hold has nothing in it! Besides a few Shapeways containers to be added later, I took a page from your guys' books and did a little scratch building. As I said, I have been watching this forum for a while. Here's my start on that empty hold corner. I plan to take the hold apart and add more modifications, now that I have seen the magic done by others here. tunko attached the following image(s):

Because I used the Paragrafix Hold photoetch set, I had some bits left over. I was careful in removing the front of the control console, so the console face remained fairly intact. After a little painting and a piece or two of vinyl, I spruced up the side of the bunk in the hold. The bits are, as I said, from the original front of the command console. tunko attached the following image(s):

Thank you for your kind words. I am trying to scratch build a chair for the command console in the hold. Cut, chop, sand, glue. I'm not sure how well I can do it, but I know from this forum that it's possible. tunko attached the following image(s):

Thank you all for the encouraging comments. What I have liked most hearing is how builds have evolved from initial expectations. After messing with a few things, lurking in the forum, and seeing what has been done, I have come to realize that there is no such thing as an uncorrectable mistake. This knowledge is what lets you take a drill to your $$$ model. Mental freedom. Thank you all for that.

Really nice work with the chair.
There is so many customisation options for this build that it could keep you busy for a long time. It's really cool watching how other people are tackling their builds.

I also thought I'd begin construction of an equipment bay, the through the tiny doorway of the hold. After a little drawing and measuring, I went to the vinyl cutter. I find the self-adhesive vinyl is great for making templates and cutting guides.

I know. I can't count. I cut another set of vinyl templates and cut the final wall. Test-assembled with tape and fit into place. Halfway through I thought maybe I should have tried a cardboard mock-up first to test the dimensions, but it worked out OK. tunko attached the following image(s):
