Hi Guys,

I took a break from everything recently as I was trying to work on too much at once and not achieving anything.

I decided to focus on my printer and while looking for ways to get my prints more reliable I come across filters. It turns out fitting a filter has solved all of my jamming problems which my 3D printing a big of a headache.

The idea is they clean the filament as it goes through the filter so that no foreign elements make it into the extruder.

My 3D printer is now much more reliable and I can leave it for hours confident its not going to jam.

You can print out a filter case and make one yourself but I used a Voltivo Filament Cleaner Block.

They come in packs of six for around a £10.

They are simple to fit I just popped one onto the filament before feeding it through the feeder unit and it sits directly under it as the filament is pulled through.

This has made my 3D printing experiance much more enjoyable and I highly recommend using a filter on the idbox. BigGrin

I just realised I have not got a photo of one but you can just about see it on the back of my printer in this shot.

Finished 3D Printer, RB7, Hummer, Skyrider drone & Combat tank collection
