I've been looking at all the suggestions that have been made recetnly about new model kit ideas and even thou they might look cool at a larger size, most have been done already (althou some could use a bit of new life and detail thrown into them). I would love to put forth a new model idea that is WAYYYYYYYY past due. One that I think DeAgostini would be able to completely and totally dominate at! CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG!   I mean comon people... that car was the FIRST COOL CAR! They only made one model of it back in the 60s (extremely rare to find and quite valueable if you do) that was very sadly lacking alot of detail. A 1/8th version of Chitty would be INCREDIBLE! ANNNNNNNNNND... if they threw in the options of the wings, spinning propellers and inflatable raft it would just blow everyone away! What do you all think?

That's a freakin awesome idea! Not only is it a cool car, but think of the build. DeAg could combine the build styles of their automotive, airplane, and boat builds all into one kit.
DeAgostini kit builds:
Millennium Falcon: 18% Complete
Shelby GT-500: 28% Complete
Thunderbird 2: 13.75% Complete

I mean comon... the movie is like 50 years old, possibly in the public domain by now. Might be worth checking into and who knows... maybe it'll bring back a resurgence of this classic! :) I'm sure Dick Van Dyke would approve!

It's likely the rights are connected to the Bond franchise.

It's not just about license cost but also the potential to turn a profit, which in this case makes it unviable. Sometimes what you think would be a success as a Partwork does not make the grade even after being tested. It's a business model that can make a lot of money, break even or lose a lot if money. The simple fact is that there is no such thing as guaranteed success at the outset, you don't know just how successful until the title has run its course.
