Cheers for the feedback guys The ratlines have all been completed yippee so have started on the yards. One word of warning is the 1-1 plan is wrong as the lower fore yard is to long as it's 15mm over size so go with the measurements in the description at the side of the plan Someone asked on the forum about furled sails and I said I was going to have a go on the SR so here's how I got on First step is to make the yards as per instructions Step 2 sow the sail to the yard Next cut the sail down to one third its size to get rid of the bulk as the material is quite thick . I hemmed the bottom of the sail with some contact adhesive to stop it fraying Then the fun begins, fold the sail up until it hits the yard hold in place with some clamps and tie the sail up with some thread pulling it tight. Once completed tease the sail out until you are satisfied with the look then fit it to the mast One thing I will say is that the smaller the yard the more you have to cut down the sail as you end up with to much bulk . There is probably more ways of doing this but it seems to work Thanks for following Martyn Martyn Ingram attached the following image(s): Building ? Completed. Soliei Royal . Sovereign of the Seas . Great job Martyn. I do like the way you have done the sails furled. Its a shame some kits out there don't show how to have them done this way. I do prefer the furled sailed as it leaves everything open for the detail to be seen.

Thanks for the bril comments I have been itching to have a go at furled sails . Chris as you say they don't cover the details on the deck so it was in for a penny in for a pound and if they didn't work out I would have rigged it with out sails . Talking about rigging I have rigged the yards slightly differently to the rigging guide as some of the belay points didn't make sense so went with Patterson book Thanks again for the great comments Martyn Building ?
