Hi everyone, Thanks for the warm welcome in the introduction section. I was advised to start a build diary so here goes. I started with the 12-pounder gun and although it is not the best in the world,I managed it and I'm quite satisfied with it (photos 1&2). I then made a start with the frame. This is how I am getting on (photos 3-5). I am waiting for a modeling vice among other tools to be delivered so I do not want to go any further until they arrive. After your warm welcome to the forum I feel confident to continue knowing I can count on your help if I run into difficulties. Thanks Alan. You've made a really great start with the cannon, if the rest of the build is to that standard it will be quite impressive

Thanks for your comments and support. An extra big thanks to Andy for the link to building a dock for her. A very useful accessory. I think I'll paint it John. Moving forward with the hull. I've ordered some brackets to make a jig before I want to go any further (photos 1-3). Made a start with the lifeboat (photos 4-6). Bought an electric plank bender and gave it my best shot (photos 7-9). Needs a clean up and paint job. Looking good, nice work on the launch..... .. You're doing the right thing by decided to set the hull in a jig, it is so easy to induce a twist or curve into the keel without realising it..... Regards Alan

Thanks everyone for your encouragement and support. I even got a gong! Carrying on with the launch. I cut the oar slots, painted it and fitted the floor planking. Added the thwart supports and duckboards (photos 1&2). Fitted the thwarts. Made and fitted the windlass and added the braces (photos 3-5). Just got the rudder to fit, coil the rope and add the anchor, paint the oars and that's the launch finished. I have some slight touching up on the paintwork to do as I pushed one of the windlass supports through the hull when fitting.
