If other ZM kits are anything to go by, it will be a stunning kit with loads of detail, though one thing I don't like about ZM kits is a fair chunk of that detail is often hidden within the fuselage once the halves are joined and never to be seen again, which seems a bit pointless and a lot of unnecessary work too? I would prefer less hidden detail for a lower price!!
Shame we don't see more RAF Phantom kits being released as a mainstream kit offering, it's usually US machinery, though I know there are some out there along with aftermarket decals for converting kits? I'm sure this kit will be well received though when it is fully released.

Anyone who pays £110 for a 1:48 Phantom needs their bumps felt!!
That's a nice kit from Hasegawa Tom, and hard to find now as you rightly say, but I've been doing some research and it appears that it, or most of it, is still available in good numbers all be it in a different guise? Our own Davetwin is currently building one... :
http://forum.model-space...spx?g=posts&t=18173
... and the squadron markings on his kit are almost identical to the ones on the Hasegawa boxing in your link, and checking the kit timeline on the 'Scalemates' website ...:
https://www.scalemates.c...-04588-phantom-fgr-mk-2
...:it would appear that it is a re-boxing (with new decals) of a 2003 Hasegawa release, though that was an RF-4E of the JASDF but likely the same moulds as their FGR version, so they, either Hasegawa or Revell, must have added some alternative parts to make the RAF version. To all intents and purposes it looks like it is the same kit as the much rarer Hasegawa version?
Surprising what you can find in terms of old sought after kits being re-boxed and re-issued at much less cost than the collectors price of the originals and it looks like Dave has paid Revell money for a Hasegawa moulding?

The limited edition has rubber tyres and white metal content, I don't believe Dave's Revell kit has this additional content which most likely is what made the Hasegawa limited edition, a limited edition.
Here's the laugh.. https://www.amazon.co.uk...d-Limited/dp/B0063HQGKM the normal asking price is around £50

I think you may find that Dave bought aftermarket decals to compliment his build and that these decals had far more detail than those provided with the kit. Check out part of his post #1 'I have been gathering together everything I need for this build and am nearly there. Just awaiting on the arrival of the resin exhaust nozzels, seamless intakes and the decals that took me an age to track down.' Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Hello Andy,
I was referring to the decals that came with the kit and which are displayed on the box art, when I said that they were virtually the same squadron markings as the Hasegawa release as per their box art, not his aftermarket decals which I am fully aware of having thoroughly read his post #1 and which are completely different obviously?
Not sure I would want the rubber tyres Tom, though the white metal parts would be good, especially if it includes the landing gear, but a nice kit all the same and a nice book you mention too.

Rubber tyres might not be to your liking but thats not to say they are not to the liking of other modellers, and in addition to the white metal (wheels) and decals, they are what make the limited edition kit a better offering than Revell kit. Not to mention the lovely box art pic of the real aircraft which provides a great ref photo, rather than the typical Revell coloured drawing which offers little other than marketing the kit and seems the kit is discontinued anyway.
