Hi Guys

I have been sitting twiddling my thumps waiting for my next pack for my Soleil Royal build. It always seems to take ages, consequently I got a bit impatient so I thought I would fill my time starting my Full Kit YAMATAO and run the two concurrently. I'm due my next pack for the S/ROYAL this week so I thought I would start this diary even though the updates might not be quite regular for this build.

So Here goes

Nothing like having a full kit available to you to work through.

Its interesting though with part shipments because in the early stages you cannot get them quickly enough but you eventually get to a point were you almost wish they would slow down - especially around the planking stage.

Hope this one goes well for you and i can see you are off the a great start. And you have some ideal space to work in.

Happy Modelling

Hi Tony

Your'e probably right about the planking but after completing HMS Victory's planking the S/Royal doesn't seem that daunting and the wood for planking is much more flexible than that for the Victory.

Thanks for the comments

Nice work, good to see you spotted the mistake early on but we all make mistakes at some point, its spotting them early that counts.
Keep up the good work.

I've contacted CS fours times each time they say "We are waiting for stock"

Someone's build diary is not the place for this as it could be deemed as hijacking!

Just waiting for my Pack six for the Soleil Royal deliveries just get later every month so I had time to do some more on my Yamato build.

Just about ready to prime the hull for the first time I'm sure it will take a couple of goes to get it smooth and fill all the gaps.

My poor old eyes must be getting tired I have some trouble with trying to see some of the pictures on the downloaded instructions when I try and zoom in for a close look everything just pixellates, I struggled a bit with some of the planking hence might need extra work on the filling.
