Hi Guys, I'm considering the Shelby Mustang build and was wondering what the practicalities were of converting it to the Steve McQueen GT 390 Bullitt car.
So far as I can see the major alterations needed are :-
* Reshaping the bonnet air intakes. * Same with rear quarter intakes. * remove fog lights and adding new grill. * Add chrome surround at front of bonnet. * Change colour scheme of car and wheels. * New number plate.
I can't see anything that insurmountable but am I missing something obvious?
Any advice or tips would be welcome.
Peter.

Rear lights are also totally different, whole rear panel would need extensive work. Wheels are also totally different. If you need photo's I have a very accurate 1:18 scale model of the McQueen Bullit car.
Cheers. Tony

Hi Peter. I've attached some photos showing the front, side and rear of the Bullit 390. As you can see the rear lights are totally different, the Shelby ones are sequential and I believe were taken from the Mercury Cougar of that time. The wheels are Torq Thrust D's with grey spokes. The front end is different as well with no lower grille, the Shelby front end was again unique to the car. I hope this helps with your plans. Tony
