I've come across an issue with the filament guide tube popping out of the tube fitting on the feeder unit. I've checked the extruder and its feeding filament without problems.

Starts printing and within 2 mins the tube has popped out and obviously no filament reaches the extruder.

The filament I am using has already printed sever models (mainly Christmas decorations) but I do notice that it has a rougher texture to the rest of the filaments I have used.

Anyone come across this problem?

I had this problem too as I reached the end of a spool of filament .I found when I bought a new roll of filament it went away. The new spool of filament was a lot smoother to the touch than the older one.I wonder if the resistance from the rougher filament as it traversed the feeder tube was the problem.

Got a new filament guide tube and clamp for the feeder end. All working now; I think the PTFE tube wasnt being held properly by the guide clamp. Got a couple of good prints without issues.

Moved onto the noisy extruder fan; its bearings were causing it to make a racket for the first 20-30 seconds on power up; replaced the fan and did a quick check before re-assembling the cable harness.

Power up the printer and connected via the PC; oh no Printer Critical error!!

Error:0
: Extruder switched off. MINTEMP triggered !

Looking through the forums on this error, it looks like I damaged the thermistor when putting the spiral wrap cable tidy back on :-(

Ah well, got one on order and will carefully replace it when it arrives.

At least having built it from start, I'm happy to disassemble/reassemble but will need to take a little more care in future :-)
