It only gets ever more tinier from here on out. 24: We detail what can now be identified as the control box for the air throttle and pitch control. Another instrument case is bent to shape.

The stuka itself is scaled in 1:16, so 70 cm long, 93 cm wide and 24 cm high. The control box above is a centimeter by one and a half. (see also here on the upper right http://forum.model-space...amp;m=225507#post225507 )

Excellent work on this Michael, looking great and some nicely detailed parts coming through. I can see you being sick of the sight of photo-etch and bending tools by the time this is completed!?

Hello Michael,
That would explain why so few of these are ever completed then?! Modelling is a fantastic hobby, but it has to be fun. Any prolonged periods of repetition will quickly lead to boredom, which is why so many of us start several builds at the same time, to give us a break from those monotonous stages. I wonder if Hachette realised that boredom would become a factor when building this model even though it's a fabulous idea to make it all out of brass?
This was one of the major problems with this kit during its original run. The kit spends too much time on the same type of work without anything "different" in between. For now we have issues upon issues coming up where we keep folding, bending and glueing together increasingly tiny instruments with no end in sight and none of them getting installed. We end up with a collection of easily losable parts. Then the kit switches over to putting together the wings one spar at a time for dozens and dozens of issues. Meanwhile people started to wonder if there even were enough issues left to even finish the plane in any way. Finish it did indeed, but it was all done in the last three issues. Which opened a whole other can of worms, but we'll get there when we get there.
I`ve built this kit a coouple of stages further than this one and Greyhawk is right. You seem to spend endless hours putting bits of brass together and half the time not knowing what they are. Greyhawk will also find one thing a bit easier. I was working from the instructions, even though they were in German and had to translate them. As you will know Greyhawk has a slight advantage there. Good luck with the rest of your build, I`ll be following with interest, espescially when you get past the point I reached. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

I'll take "the Earl of Etchington". 25: More detail work on the small stuff, including the control box for the dive brake and the fuse box.

The Earl of Etchington... now I like that.... .. Another beautiful session from you.... great work.... Regards Alan

Yep I like the Earl of Etchington! Another fine update, I am sure it will all be worth it in the final stages.

26: More fiddly small stuff. Think I'm gonna do two more issues, reach a nice 20 % completion and then take a break and switch over to one of my wooden models.
