Stained and varnished the cabin partitions and after assembly, positioned them on the deck. Added the poop deck support beams and positioned the wheel. Planked the poop deck and sanded and fitted the edging strip. Marked the planking pattern on the deck.

Built up the bulwarks and cut and sanded them to size. Made and fitted the timberheads and painted the bulwarks.

Lined the quarterdeck opening and marked out and fitted the pillars. Added the skid beams and ladders before finishing off with the 3 side strips.

I get so involved that I keep forgetting to stop and take photos but here we go anyway.

Alan.

Alan

Thats great that you do get so engrossed in what you are doing. It certainly makes the time fly.

You have a lively model taking shape there and i can see , like me, you have a little furry helper BigGrin mine just loves to help me refuce the strip wood lengths into "sizes more managable" LOL
Happy Modelling

Thanks for looking in and your kind Comments.

Tony, when I first started he used to chew the ribs but fortunately the tooth marks are all covered up now. He doesn't seem to bother with it now.

Happy New Year everyone. Ok, I know i'm a bit late but it's a long story.

In December I fitted and painted the bulwarks. I felt a huge sense of achievement and that a landmark had been reached. Apart from the decorations, fittings and painting, the hull was technically built.

I put everything away for Christmas but due to computer problems, I could not post to my diary. Unfortunately my hip hip infection came back and I ended up back in hospital. When I got out I was not up to continuing and eventually forgot about it until a friend on facebook asked how the build was coming along.
