packing out ribs Options

hi everyone
has any one else had problems with ribs 14, 13 & 11 on the right hand side of the ship i seem to having to pack out the ribs quite a bit, im just putting on the 6th layer of planking ive not over sanded them, i did have problems with 15 like a lot of people have but thanks to starting very late (ok not quite true i cocked up the 1st time & had to reorder) ive read a lot of stuff on here that has been a fantastic help

hi cal 15 was my only problem..are those ribs seated properly and square

Hi Cal,

I also had a problem with rib 14 on the right hand side.
I ended up having to part cut the rib and re-glue, to get
it to flow with the other ribs.

So i had to alter both 14 and 15 on the right hand side.
Looks okay now though.

im ready to start maring & cutting out the gun ports am i better of waiting until later in the build before i sand it down or do i it a bit at a time, theres a few planks mainly at the front that are a little bit wavey

On the subject. Do you pack out the ribs to meet the decks or sand back the decks to meet the ribs?

hi stefan,when I put the decks in I had to sand a little off the deck straight edge,that made the deck correct with the formers,and only needed a few minor adjustments.
Current builds: SotS, USS Consitution, San Felipe, D51 loco, HMS Surprise, RB7, Arab Dhow, Jotika HMS Victory

sand the deck back to the ribs but check it with the other ribs first some ribs may need packing out check it with a plank across the frames and when sanding the ribs,common falts are rib 15 and may be some aft around rib 25

Received my next set of issues this morning, but am still waiting for part 31 before fairing can be completed and planking started in earnest.
