I have done some work on the base of the model.
Using life colour paint UA301 Nato Black paint to colour the brick joints and round the rock Edges.

Using Life Colour UA029 Grey paint for the base colour of the rocks.

Using life colour UA028 Grey paint for the next tone on the rocks.

The next colour put on was life colour UA027 Compass Ghost Grey.

The black lines where then put onto the rocks using the UA301 Black paint.

Then using Life colour UA227 British Army Slate Grey paint to give the aged look.

Thanks for looking in Ian.

Hi Phil.
The primer used was Best Oleum grey primer picture of which is in post #41 of build Diary. I think the light in the rock photos does not show the bases grey colour. Ian.

Hi All.
A quick update on my build.
I have painted the wall in UA029 grey paint for the base colour of the wall. I then used UA227 British slate grey for the ageing of the wall.

The trumpet was painted with Darkstar Brass metal paint. The wrapped around bugle cord was painted with Foundry paint system Scarlet shade 38A for the base colour.
The next colour used was Scarlet 38B to give a slightly lighter tone to the cord.
then I used the scarlet light 38c to finish the lighter side of the cord.

Then I used Austrian white shade 67A around the darker sides of the cord to put in the white shaded area of the cord. And Austrian white Light 67C for the brighter areas of the white in the cord.
Then I painted the tassels of the cord using the same method.

the next update will be some more colour on the horse.
Thanks for looking in Ian.

Very nice work on those tassels and braided chord Ian, beautifully painted and looking good - very well done! Cool ThumpUp

I have about 7 or 8 of the various metallic shades in the Dark Star range myself including the brass, which aren't too bad but I've found some of them to have a quite granular 'glittery' finish which I don't like? I've recently been using the new 'Extreme Metal' range from AK Interactive and they are superb, just like real metal and much easier to use than Alclad II paints. If you have an airbrush maybe give them a try - they are the best I've ever come across for painting metallics?

Looking forward to seeing more of your build Ian, well done again. ThumpUp
