Painting the Horse Part 1. Using UA620 paint I roughly painted in where I wanted the dapple colour of the horse. I painted in the hoofs in a sand yellow colour to give me an idea of where the bottom of the legs where. I then added matt black to give me a idea of the bone and muscle tone of the horse. Then I used Austrian white shade paint to start putting in the leg detail. Then I mixed some Austrian white shade with some Nato black paint to get a darker shade of grey in the legs. I then added some Austrian light white to the legs. Thanks for looking in Ian. ian smith attached the following image(s): Current builds.Hachettes build the bismark,HMS Victory, HMS Hood. Painting the horse Part 2. Using UA027 grey I painted the base coat for the dapple grey on the horse. The dapple spots where added when the grey had dried using Austrian white light 67c paint. The hoofs where then painted with Charcoal Black shade paint then highlighted with charcoal black 34b paint for the high light in the hoof. I then used LPW surface shadower to highlight the lower part of the horses legs. Thanks for looking in Ian. ian smith attached the following image(s): Current builds.Hachettes build the bismark,HMS Victory, HMS Hood. Finished Builds Corel HMS Victory cross section.

Hi All. The saddle girth cloth was painted with foundry Bavarian cornflower blue light 73c. The leather bridle and saddle strap was painted with scale colour black leather paint with 3 brush full of Nato black paint added to it as the scale colour black was very purple in colour, not to my liking. The rear saddle cloth was done using foundry French blue 65A,65B,65B. The white grenade and white band where put in using Austrian white Light 67C. The red used for the Saddle surround and piping round the saddle cloth was British Red Coat shade 68A. The saddle was done using Foundry black shade 34A, and charcoal black 34B, and charcoal Light 34C Thanks for looking in Ian. ian smith attached the following image(s): Current builds.Hachettes build the bismark,HMS Victory, HMS Hood.
