I will be building the Tamiya Honda RC166 race winning motorbike, with a resin figure of Mike Hailwood push starting it. I will be using upgrades, spoked metal wheels, front fork and clutch set, rivet set and metal chain set, with a resin casting of Mike Hailwood. I will be showing them on a scratch built base of a section of race track starting grid, with barrier behind. BigGrin

Thanks. I'm not normally a lover of clear view models, but the half painted fairing worked well.

I decided I had better check what paints I have already and what I need to order for my build, and thought I would give a quick review of what is in the box, and the upgrade parts I will be using.BigGrin
I have reviewed Tamiya bike kits before so I wont go mad and cover the same ground, suffice to say it is of the same Tamiya quality and there is a really nice set of colour pictures to help with details.
What Tamiya have done though, is to produce some superb and top quality detail up sets! The turned wheel set with stainless spokes is extremely well machined, and against the kit wheels, well its night and day. I will build both up so you can see what I mean during the build. The rivet set is tiny, but will bring life to the build, along with the fork and clutch set, and the chain set is just amazing, a perfectly scaled set of parts with rollers and even chain lube! Tamiya even supply purpose made jigs to assemble the wheels and chain. I will go into more detail on these when I come to make up these parts. So I will leave you with some pictures of all this, and you can see what I am up against, my poor eyes!LOL BigGrin
