Thanks all for looking in and your comments.BigGrin
You have to take your hat off to Tamiya, the level of detail on this kit is amazing!Drool There are valves in the cylinder head that you will never see, but they are there! And the parts are so crisp, no flash, no ejector pin marks. BigGrin Cool

Hi Trev and thanks for looking in. I spent an hour or 2 with a fine emery board flatting the surfaces off so I have no gaps.BigGrin Cool

Lovely work which has generated fond memory of knowing Ralph Bryans and seeing his RC166, he raced 250cc works Hondas in 1967, winning in Germany and in Japan, his final World Championship race. He was fourth in the World Championship that season. One of the enduring legacies of his Honda years was a firm friendship with the legendary Mike "The Bike" Hailwood, which lasted until Hailwood's death in a road accident. Sadly Ralph died in 2014.

So glad to see that you are back on this build Daran, I think it will look fabulous when complete with the rider pushing it. I love the typical Tamiya quality, which is very obvious in your photos. Those cooling fins on the engine block look very refined and beautifully moulded, and that clutch looks very sweet too!

Well done. Drool ThumpUp

Hi Al and Kev, thanks for you comments. Kev this has got to be the best Tamiya kit of a bike out there, the level of detail is excellent and the detail up kits are so good, as you can see from the clutch.BigGrin Cool
Started on the detailing of the frame, the pads the tank sit on are actual rubber, and the foot pegs are turned metal!Drool Cool The engine is a dry fit in the frame and will be held in place with screws.Cool
