Welcome to my 2017 Build of the Year entry.

Keeping with the Stars wars theme, I will be building two Bandai kits, C2PO 1/12 scale and R2-D2 & R5-D4 1/12 scale. I will only be building the R2 unit out of the second kit and placing him with C3PO on a diorama from ANH.
I will be giving them both the beaten-up treatment, standing on a sandy scene. I will also try and put some lighting effects into the model as well, although not sure how yet, but I’ll figure it out.

It looks like it will be an exciting year, looking at all the build entries, its going to be very busy.

I will also be finishing the Falcon as well as starting the new R2-D2 build.

Good luck everyone and happy modelling.

Here are the pictures.

This should be an interesting build, I've heard lots and lots of good things about these kits.

If your custom Falcon build is anything to go by then this will be something special Blink Cool

I have these kits as well and they are a blast to build. Can't wait to see your diorama.

Don't know if you're aware of this nice little light kit for C-3PO's eyes. I managed to nab one when it was in stock. I have not yet installed the lights, but I'm sure they will look amazing.

Whilst continuing with the R2 and Millennium falcon builds, I have decided to make a start on the diorama. I have decided to paint all the pre-painted parts, it will help when it comes to the weathering. I have also bought a stand for the units and will be building the diorama onto this base. I have also roughly drawn how I wanted them to stand on the display. I’ve gone with ANH, where they argue which way to go. The other plan is to have both C2PO and R2 to have lighting effects. I have bought some SMD’s and fine fiber optic cable ready.

This has the makings of another wonderful model.

That base looks really good.

Hope it all goes as planned for you.
