BigGrin Thanks for looking in both of you and for your commentsCool

@Dave there is a video you can watch on the clearcoat system not so scary after you have watched it and as long as you clean everything your airbrush will be fine.

@ Dom I have used it before one thing that must be done is to mix it all in a cup designed for mixing paint. Also the use of a stand to hold the body whilst spraying is very useful I find the Tamiya set a godsend for this and its adjustable for several scales.

BigGrin Hi All

More progress. The kit provides four 'Ford 427' etch plates you have the option of discarding them and using the four printed metal foil versions, using the provided decals on the etch parts or painting the etch.

I decided to paint so some careful painting was called for using blue, red, black and silver paint and once dry micromesh was used to remove the excess paint.

Next the distributor and wiring harness was added along with the throttle rod to the carburetta. The cooling water tank was added next along with its polished cap and finally the two painted '427' plates were added to the rocker covers.

The airfilter was painted with a 50/50 mix of white and tan and placed on top of the carb, you are given two choices for the metal surround for the airfilter one has a pre applied grey finish or just basic steel. I went for the grey finish one, this of course is supplied flat so needs to be curled to fit. Lastly the polished cover was added to the air filter.

The gearbox has now been glued in place but the exhaust pipes are still dry fitted the reason being the racing street version had the exhausts painted white and not chromed so they may yet see some paint. I will have to check if they were painted all white or just from the joint where the next set of exhausts fit. The last pic shows the chassis components cleaned up and ready for assembly.

More soon.

Detail on this is fantastic.

Is this all OOB or have you bought detail packs/scratch adding things?

BigGrin Thanks everyone for looking in and your comments, the only thing pictures cant portray is the weight of the engine its seriously heavyBlink Blink .There are still more hoses ect to be added to the engine later

@ Dom MFH kits are all OOB builds, everything you see in the review is what came out of the box this includes etch, templates and sweadette for the carpets the only thing you need to add to complete the build is paint and glue.

MFH do sell extra wiring and connectors ect for those that want to add more detail to there kits than that that is already provided in the box.

BigGrinHi All

Small update, the chassis has been made up by either gluing the metal parts to the frame or using small screws and glue. The pedal box was made up by adding the valves at the front and then the pedals fit on the metal studs that stick through on the inside. The central part of the steering rack was prepared and dry fitted all the parts have been undercoated ready for the top coats. the steering rack and pedal box are only dry fitted right now untill painting is done. the engine wqas also dry fitted on the chassis to check fit at this point.

Whilst waiting for parts to dry I started to build the components of the rear transfer box and its frame, again lots of drilling for metal pegs and screws. AT this point im making up all the suspension aswell so lots of cleaning up and painting ahead for me.

More soon.
