Here is the diary from my Model Factory Hiro 1/12 Tipo 158 kit. This is an incredible kit of the iconic Tipo 158.It has detail comparable to Pocher kits with brake lines, individually spoked wheels. It is comprised of white metal, resin, photoetched and various other materials for the pipes, wires and material for the seat.

MFH kits are probably the best 1/12 kits available. They are expensive, but the quality of the parts is superb. My past experiences with MFH kits have taught me that test fitting the major assemblies is a must before painting since the metal parts are sometimes warped and there are tons of holes to drill of varying diameter.I may use low temp solder for the main chassis since this will be quite a heavy model once finished and I will be ordering model car worlds excellent lacquer paint for the body.

So here are some pictures of the kit.Construction to begin shortly

I think that MFH exceed Pocher content in a smaller package which means you can have/display more. Watching with interest Cool

Its almost finished Andy,
I put it on hold to do the Arizona build and now I am getting around to finishing it.I accidentally deleted some of the recent build photos, but I will be posting an update in the next couple of days.

Carl

I have built this in 1/43 scale and it is a nice looking car.I love the shape of this car.

I'd love to build something like this but it's too expensive for me!!

However, I shall console myself with watching you build it Carl and having seen your previous work I have no doubt that you will make a fabulous job of it. Can't wait to see you start this - well done and thanks for sharing!! Drool ThumpUp

So we start with the engine.I decided to test fit the whole engine before any assembly. There are numerous holes that need to be drilled into the parts and the sequence of assembly is critical because otherwise parts will be impossible to fit.

The engine block is resin and the rest of the parts are metal.I have started drilling holes and test fitting parts.

Looks like some quality parts there Carl and an excellent start to your build diary. I think these early Grand Prix cars are so beautiful to look at and I'm sure your finished model will be a real gem.

Looking forward to your next update already, thanks for sharing your work with us. Drool ThumpUp

Here are some pictures on my 1/43 Tipo 158. Such a great looking car.

Still drilling lots of 0.4mm holes and test fitting the engine on the 1/12 version.

I cant remember .It says "france Model" on the bottom of the car.it may be a Top Queens kit or provence moulage kit. The top queens kits are some of the most amazing 1/43 kits-Almost as good as Bosica.
