Issues 6, 7, 8 and 9 arrived today, along with the binder. Typically, work is very quick at this stage, with there being about 45 minutes in total required. Real pleased to see a little more electronics. This simply comprises of a silver plastic bezel that clips into the black electronic's housing. The LCD unit only fits into the housing one way, due to a cut out tab. With the LCD sandwiched between the front and rear housing parts, some black self-tapping screws are used to fasten the unit together. Using the battery pack and test circuit that we used for the blinker eye, the new LCD panel can be powered up. The unit looks neat with the changing, blinking lights. Issue 7 includes parts for the upper dome and the a couple of silver lubricators. Two further parts are included here that won't be used on any of these new mag issues. Both of the dome parts sit to the right of the original black plastic part. Coming together! Here are the lubricators, along with the parts that I'll put to one side. The lubricators comprise three parts and are fastened with one of the longer silver screws. Issue 8 contains these parts: Work on the upper dome continues, with assembly consisting of bolting two further plastic frame parts to the upper crown. After this, the frame lower ring begins to be assembled. These parts are dovetailed for a precise fit, and are secured with a clip and two of the shorter silver screws. Issue 9 contains the last parts for the upper dome frame, and parts for the projector eye. The lower ring is now completed, and hen orientated correctly for the upper dome, the parts are bolted together. The projector eye is easy to assemble and is secured with two black self-tapping screws. More in 4 weeks!

Thanks Graeme, I'm used to complicated models for my normal line of work, so this is quite therapeutic. Fits superbly too.

Very nice clear pictures. If you do not mind me asking what sort of camera setup do you use? For these photos, I'm mostly just using an old 7.2mp SONY DSC-H5 on a tripod, using automatic mode. Some photos have been taken with my Nikon D5100 DSLR, in aperture priority mode, again with a tripod. I'm using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop to correct stuff. For all photos, I'm using 2 diffused daylight lamps on a blue A0 card drop that I bought from a local hobby shop. This is taken with the Nikon on a white background, prior to correction: And here is the magazine, out in the shops in a week or so.
