Thanks Semaj. It was pretty expensive as it came from Hong Kong and set me back £140 plus £20 delivery gulp, it looks worth it though as its pretty big I was amazed when it turned up as I'm used to the smaller bandai boxes. Oh yes I got caught by customs too so it made the piece even more expensive but I cannot wait to get started on it.

Ok I will setup a separate build diary. I'm not one for lighting unfortunately but I will be weathering it etc. Luckily I managed to get it as a birthday present as I would not have it either :)

That price is probably about right for a Bandai kit that size. It will be worth it since it's the same exact scale as R2-D2 DeAgostini kit builds:
Millennium Falcon: 18% Complete Shelby GT-500: 28% Complete Thunderbird 2: 13.75% Complete

Wow has it been that long since I posted. Lots going on but anyway had quite a lot to do this month so Ill start with the pics from July's set which created a lesser amount and my BB8 got in the way. Just got the base ring for the inner dome to do now and added the parts to the base of the leg with the wheel. This thing is going to be very heavy indeed. lholland attached the following image(s):

Onwards and upwards to the next stage. At this point I am a little behind just because of life getting in the way but it did give me a chance to read about the next few issues. Was a little concerned about the projector not working so was incredibly careful when putting this thing together. It took me about half an hour to make as I did not want to bend, drop or ruin any of the components for this but what a device, obviously no Leia at the moment but the Luke looks great. I have decided to keep it in its own little tub until it will be added to the final build to keep it in good order. lholland attached the following image(s):

So now to add the wires, that was quite tricky making sure I had enough slack on the main wire to the motor so I loosely fitted the back piece of the ankle to accommodate this before tightening the cable ties and making sure the wire to the sensor was measured to the correct length before securing. lholland attached the following image(s):

Added the main part of the foot and am starting to get very excited about how this is now coming together. Also added a small bit of weathering around the lines to emphasise the detail. Looking forward to next month now so I can check the motor works and add the last bits of the leg detail. :) lholland attached the following image(s):

Here are a few more pictures showing a bit more detail. This is feeling pretty heavy now and thats just one leg. I intend to put a little more weathering around the foot area. lholland attached the following image(s):
