Ok so how to make the tail? I don't want a straight tail but want to be able to shape it. So take 3 bits of bonsai wire and twist them together tight, using pliers flatten off one end, you then drill a hole in the end of the body and glue it in. You can now play with ideas on how to shape it, when you have the shape you want there is a sold base to shape the milliput over. godan61 attached the following image(s):

So add milliput and shape the tale around it, this is a quick process, the tail fan is a little different. Rough shape the tail fan and mould it on then leave!!!! Let this cure until it goes very stiff, using a wet thumb and fore fingering tease it out thin until it tears it creates a unique look. New skills all the way its certainly an adventure but pleased with results, I am glad you guys are enjoying the journey I am pleased with the results so far. godan61 attached the following image(s):

So feet, it would seem that these change position in flight hence the position of the claws. The legs are lizard like and I later need to add a membrane like wing to it like a flying lizard, claws are again pre mad and pushed in. Not sure what to call these perhaps tendrils? base is bonsai wire drilled into the head this time however I coated them with pea to give some grip, A thin coating of milliput and then the funel like appendages on the end. godan61 attached the following image(s):

Thanks Robin, can't keep up with the posts this build has become absorbing and fast paced. The next steps have been a all new skill set yet again with plastic card, first the tail wings on the back legs. The way I approached this was to cut the wings in card which I tested on the figure then cut out of the palsy card. next the difficult part was to heat it bend it and fold it until a rough fit and superglue in place These will be blended in with milliput and covered with a thin layer that can be textured. The main wings were the same process cut a card template for both sides and shape them to fit, but this time I cut 2 for both side from thicker plastic card. The trick now is that I wanted to shape them and not that they would be flat, I bent both by hand on each side and repeated it for its pair. Now I glued each pair together giving the wings some thickness and shaped the edges and drilled out each to take 2 pins which had holes on the body. godan61 attached the following image(s):

Ok so the next part again with bonsai wire twisted together to make the arms and glued to the wings, these are then glued to the body. These are then blended in and the arms formed top and bottom, same way as the teeth preformed claws are inserted into the ends. godan61 attached the following image(s):

The wings are a unique challenge solid in the main but with transparent ends. The way I am going to approach this is each wing in 3 parts, transparent centre and 2 outers but first again a card template with the transparent centre cut out. First I traced each piece out 3 times the centre on transparent plasticard the 2 outers on thinner plasticard, match the cut outs on the 2 outers and around the cover film on the centre. Glue the 2 outers to the centre and repeat for all the wings, next I rounded the edges of all the wings and add a milliput base and vanes. godan61 attached the following image(s):

Once its dry just blend the two sections together with milliput and now its really taking shape.

Ok so I have reworked the eyes so they face more forward asper the film and then used masks to cover the clear areas. Then I have used acrylic beige green as a base coat. godan61 attached the following image(s):
