Issue 17 contains – Dome Frame, Infrared Cable, Motor Cable.

Extending the Head Frame.

Take the assembly from Issue 16 and the part supplied this time, together with two of the silver screws and nuts from issue 16.

Align the frame with the assembly, fitting it up against the frame you added in the previous Issue. Position the frame, lining up the two holes in the mounting bracket with the holes in the ring frame. Holding the frame in place, fit a nut into one of the hexagonal recesses over the fixing hole. Holding the nut in place with a fingertip, turn the assembly over and tighten a screw into the nut. Repeat to fasten the other hole in the frame to the ring.

This Issue is now complete.

Issue 18 contains – Dome Frames, Microphone Mounting Plate, Projector Housing, Projector Lens, Microphone.

Extending the head frame.

Take the assembly from Issue 17 and the two frames supplied this time, together with four more of the silver screws and nuts used to attach the previous frames.Align the first frame with the assembly, fitting it up against the frame you fitted in Issue 17. Holding the frame in place, fit a nut into one of the hexagonal recesses over the fixing hole. Holding the nut in place with a fingertip, turn the assembly over and tighten a screw into the nut. Repeat to fasten the other hole in the to the ring frame.Fit the second frame against the side of the one you just fitted. Use the two recesses in the frame to take the fixing nuts and secure it to the ring frame with two screws.

Mounting the microphone.

Take the microphone, mounting plate, projector housing and lens, together with two of the short black self-tapping screws provided with Issue 16.Undo the twist of wire holding the microphone lead and straighten out the lead. Fit the plug on the lead through the tube extending from the blue mounting plate. Feed the wire all the way through the mounting plate until the body of the microphone is flush with the mounting tube. Fit the clear lens cover over the microphone and push it all the way down the mounting tube. Fit the projector housing over the lens, lining up the two screw holes in the housing and the mounting plate. Screw the assembly together using the two short black self-tapping screws.

This Issue is now complete.

Issue 19 contains – Right Leg Frame, Right Leg Details.

Adding the leg details.

Take all three parts provided this time.Both the Leg Details are identical with an angled flange on the lower edge. Slot the upper and lower edges of the details into the two slots in the Right Leg Frame. Push the Details all the way in until they are fully home.

Extending the Head Frame.

Take the assembly from Issue 18 and the part supplied this time, together with two of the silver screws and nuts from issue 18.

Issue 21 contains – Right Leg Bottom Rear Cover, Right Wheel mounting Plate, Fixing Screws, Fixing Nuts.

Assembling the right leg.

Take the leg assembly from Issue 8 , the metal leg frame from Issue 12, the right ankle mounting plate from Issue 20, the right wheel mounting plate supplied this time, together with two of the shorter silver screws and eight of the black ones, all supplied with this Issue.Align the right leg assembly with the metal frame. Screw the parts together with the eight black screws.

Slide the right ankle mounting plate over the end of the leg with the curved side outwards and the shallow recesses facing up towards the blue and silver details which have matching shapes.

Screw the right wheel mounting plate to the end of the leg frame using the two silver screws. Ensure the mounting plate is fitted to the correct side of the leg frame assembly.

As the right ankle mounting plate is not fixed yet, take care that it doesn’t come loose.

This Issue is now complete.

Issue 22 contains – Logic Function Displays Outer Shell, Logic Function Displays LCD, Logic Functions Displays Mounting Plate.

Assembling the logic function displays.

You need all three pars provided this time together with four of the 6mm black screws.

Handle the circuit board carefully. Start by peeling away the protective film from the front of the LCD screen. With the LCD facing the outer shell, align the four holes in the circuit board with the holes in the outer shell. Take the assembly and put it face down on the mounting plate aligning the screw holes. Press the mounting plate onto the assembly so that the four holes in the corners line up with the holes in the circuit board. Drive screws into all four corners to hold the assembly together.

Testing the display.

You can test the LCD display using the same circuit board, battery box and lead that you used in Issue 6.

If you haven’t already done so, connect the battery box to the socket marked POWER and plug the lead into OUT socket. Plug the other end of the lead into the socket on the logic display circuit board. Turn the battery box ON and press the switch S1. The lights should cycle through a flashing blue and white pattern.

Issue 23 Contains – Dome Frame, Ring Frame Connector, Bottom Ring Frame.

Extending the framework

Take the assembly from Issue 20 and the dome frame from this Issue, together with two of the same silver screws and nuts used previously for the framework.

Align the frame with the assembly, fitting it up against the frame added in Issue 20. Holding the frame in place, fit a nut into one of the hexagonal recesses over the fixing hole. Holding the nut in place, turn the assembly over and tighten a screw into the nut. Fit another nut into the other mounting hole and secure it with the other screw.

This Issue is now complete.

Issue 24 Contains – Wheel, Wheel Covers, Fixing Nuts, Fixing Screws.

Right wheel assembly.

Lay out the three parts of the wheel plus four of the longer black fixing screws.Take the wheel cover which has four projecting fixing lugs. Fit the four lugs through the holes in the wheel and press the parts firmly together. Align the four holes in the remaining cover with the four projecting lugs. Press the cover into place so that the lugs fit into the holes. Fit screws into all four holes and tighten them to hold the wheel together.

This Issue is now complete.
