Hi, conteporary with Senna mp4/4 and Shelby Mustang (still wait the first package) I'll start two month ago another custom project golf GTI 2 based.

The project consist in a total bodywork respray with Tamiya Coral blue TS41

A little modified engine bay

A new color interior (like golf 3 colour concept)

Lowering chassis

New wheels

Here the modded parts worked at today.

1. A full black front grill with black headlights (the effect of led bulb inside is similar to a xenon bulb)

2. A new color combination for seats (i start from driver seat), but in the future is possible that i change the seat with another model (i'm thinking about the Lambo Countach seat)

3. Full black front bumper with black turn signal

4. A new engine color combination. the original engine kit color was a flat allumium

I ordered and i'm waiting an rc sponge filter to use like sport filter. i'll try to fit, I hope the size will match with reat of engine.

Friday is just arrived the r/c filter, but it must be reworked to match with engine size

The engine bay is now in Coral Blue, i'll finish some details and the new filter and finally i'll assembly the engine in the engine bay.

Thank very much for appreciation and encouragement, they're necessary for made a good project. BigGrin

Before the final engine fit inside engine bay, i need tro work the sponge filter.

Than i re order the issue that contain the engine bracket. When i try the fitment i broke the pins between engine and bracket.

I try to make my best, i hope to receive soon the suspension arm to work on ride height that will be similar like the real car model (i'm owner of a Golf GTI mk3 on coilover)

Thank to everybody for answer and tips.

Hi Magpie. You're right with metal shrouds. When i tuned my 1/1 golf gti mk3, i found on ebay.de a ignition wire set with silicon plug end in red color. Also this ignition have the full red wire color.

But i think to repaint the metal shroud in flat alluminiun.
I have a question: The ingnition plug wire are in rubber material. Is it possible to pait it.

My idea is to color it in red or blue color (like silicon race ignition wire kit)

And i looking for some decals to this model. I think K&N air filter and Bosch or Mann for oil filter is relly good....but where i can find it?

Thank for your comments are essential to make a good project.

Hi,
With the ignition wires you could use red speaker wire or something similar in size to the ones you have. I haven't seen any decals but can look into it.

I don't think about speaker wire, good idea!

Fo decals i know that will be and hard search, if i don't find i'll try to made by myself.

I also collect the Delta gr. A WRC 1988.

I compare the navigator seat with original golf. The size are good.

I'll take another issue with another anvi seat to change the golf's front seats.

I'll repainted the new sport seat with same scheme colour of modify gti seat.

My friend machined the rc filter to reduce the sizw

After checking the size, i spray the body in black and i try to paint the sponge in black.

Also i find the sponsor decals.

After receiving 6 issues, i continued with my tuned project

After watching some engine bay, i try to reproduce the heat shield behind the exhaust manifold

I took a look on my Golf GTI 3 engine bay, i redid a bigger heat shield like in my GTI

My first idea was to made a sport filter, but the size are to wrong.

I take the original airbox and after watching some real airbox, i give some details to the airflow control unit.

The exhaust have a duct for warm air to airbox. The real hose is aluminum made. I try to reproduced it using alu tape.

After the assembly of engine unit, i put the K&N decal on the airbox cover. I simulate the use of a K&N panel filter

Finally the engine is in the natural position.
I colored some plug and the battery connector.
I taped with alu tape the differential- axle heat shield.

The hard thing to do is the vacuum tank and the wiper tank. I uses Tamiya clear red and blue.
But reproduce the real color is very hard. The best think is to use airbrush, but I haven’t
I try to remade it better Blushing

I have my first look with engine on chassis with the future wheels.
I’m quite satisfied for the overall look reached at this building point.BigGrin
