Continuing with the project, i found some new spare bit directly from Delta.

I find my new sport steering wheel. I try to flock the crown, i'll paint the spokes in alu. But before to made it, i'll wait the steering hub.

Finally i decided for the sport seat combo color.
I'll spray in coral the kevalr chassis. I think that kevlar is not appropiate for my project.
If in the engine bay would be a 500+ hp engine (such a 1.8 T or a VR6 turbo), i think that kevlar seat, race interior with only two seat, fire extinguisher, Stack race instrument and other race stuff will be perfect.

But my idea is an custom show ride with some sport/race parts but inside the original context

So i primered the first chassis, but before to piant, i'll must remove the juncton lines.

While i'm working on Shelby parts i sanded, primered ans painted the second seat of my GTI. Now the front seats are completed.

This past weekend I continued with the GTI that has a lot adjustments and improvements to do.

In the last step I was arrived to the exhaust system, the next steps (watching the instructions) are various components fixed at the bottom of the floor.

1: Fuel pump and filter are really ugly out of the box. I've looking at some of the photos on the of the original pump and some modified pump.
I made a mix. I separated the funnel directly from the pump and gave a bit of detail between aluminum and gold then black washed. The tube from the pump to the filter was all colored in aluminum and then made in metallic blue the joints.
Finally the fuel filter is colored in aluminum. Everything then received a black wash.

2. The black frame components are original, but fitted on the subframe they is very hard to see them. I watch out a variety of customized golf 2 and I found a people who has reshaped them of a color that that I like and I try to replicate it.
I painted everything in aluminum and then I sprayed two coat of tamiya smoke.
I have redone all the aluminum bolts and finally I have detailed in red color the polyurethane bushes (as the powerflex kit)

3. The braking system is not bad but too flat. I removed the print marks on the inside of the disc and then repainted them all.
In the beginning I wanted to drill the disks, but watching my rims I decided to leave it as original. The only extra detail that I do(and this is the first time I try) was to apply aluminum tape on the disc brake track ... the result seems to me quite acceptable.
The brake calipers need to reworked, after finishing I paint them in gloss black. I painted in gold the calipers and finally I do a final smoke coat. I painted in black the brake pads and some little details

Next step will be the driveshaft.

Yesterday i began the work on driveshafts. I Remember my own on my GTI and look something on internet. I did some little extra detail to improve the look: I detailed the joint bolts on the differential, painted the inner joint with gun metal and finally with aluminum stripes I selfmade the ties.


I painted in semi-gloss black the arms between the joints. This evening I hope to finish the front axle group.


I did a first fitment test with disc brake and it seems ok. I used another rims. The definitive ones will be the whites that still need a detail processing.

Great to see this coming together looking good.
