Part 36 to 40:

All I can say now is Wow, this thing is HUGE! I knew it was going to be big, but until you actually build the undertray, you don't get the full perspective - even with the full-size poster. Nothing too tricky about the build, although it does need you to put it down & walk away a couple of times to allow glue to set. I did find the barge board stays a little fiddly - just required an extra glass of patience.
LOL
When you add some of the other sections, it is really coming together

Part 41 to 44:

So this section is all about putting the rear suspension together. I was happy to find that the main damper spring was not actually plastic, despite being mounted on a plastic sprue. For such a small section, there is a hell of a lot of fiddly parts & I had to double-check the instructions several times before assembling each piece - Just to be sure. Shame I didn't have all the issues to complete the section, but looking good so far BigGrin

Thanks Mike, still here - just finding it easier to do 4 issues at a time, instead of weekly BigGrin

Part 45 to 48:

Firstly, apologies for the extended absence. I had a lighting failure on my workbench, so all modelling was halted while I sorted that out.
I am now way behind - so will try to bring the next 4 issues ASAP.
Anyway, these issues finish the rear suspension & start the cockpit detailing.
The base of the car is now huge, but that whole unsupported front section is a bit of a worry - I hope it doesn't prove too flimsy
Scared

Part 49 to 52:

Some more to do on the cockpit & also starting on the radiators this time too. One deviation from the main instructions though. I decided NOT to connect the 2 sections of radiator pipe yet. I prepared them & scraped off the paint from the join, but won't glue them until I am ready to position them in the car. That way I know it will fit correctly when the time comes. Finally it was time to assemble the brakes & the final wheel hub. I thought is was about time for a full review with all the parts assembled - it is looking good (& huge!)
I have also included a couple of shots from my recent London trip, of the MP4-23 hanging in the McLaren showroom & Senna's MP4-4 BigGrin
