The last but 1 delivery. Not long now until the end of the build. Issue 94In this issue we get the microcontroller unit, cable clips & screws. Attach the cable clips to the microcontroller. Then slid the microcontroller into the body of R2 and fit the lugs onto the circuit board bracket. Ritchie69 attached the following image(s): Completed - R2D2

This is it, we have finally reached the end of the build. Issue 97In this issue we get some cable ties, the camera, a lens & cable lables. Take the cable lables and seperate them from the sprue ( I decided to high-light the letters on each cable lable to make it easier to read). Attach them to the wires at the end of the cables. Insert the battery box into the bottom of the base & connect the wires, make sure once everythng is connected this can be removed easily. Start to connect all the cables to the various boards inside R2. When connecting the cables to the boards, make sure that all the pins are straight and the connectors are fully in. Use cable ties and the clips on the MCU to keep the wires neat. Ritchie69 attached the following image(s): Completed - R2D2

Issue 98In this issue we get 2 brackets for the dome circuit board, screws & washers, lens cover seals, sensor housing & buffers & ultrasound sensor cover. Take the camera from the previous issue and remove the protective cover from the front & back. Feed the ribbon connector through the hole in the camera mount (make sure you don't twist or kink this). Secure in place with 2 screws. Stick the 2 lens cover seals at the base of the hole in the dome. Remove the old lens from the blue faceplate and replace with the new lens. Then fit it into place on the dome. More cables need to be label's with the cable label's, then attach the ultrasound cover. Take the front panel of R2 and attach to the body frame, making sure the cables are fed through carefully. Then connect the cables to the boards. Replace the sensor stop with the sensor housing & buffers. Attach the dome motor assembly and connect the wires. Take the pivot support and attach to the dome. Issue 100In this issue we get the mains adaptor, 2 cables, extension cable, cable tidy, plugs & a sticker. Take the extension cable and insert into the MCU. Then take the 2 cables and attach the cable label's onto them and twist the cable tidy around them both. Insert the cables in the 2 circuit boards in the dome then use a cable tie to secure them to the pivot support. Insert the spindle from issue 96 into the dome then feed the cables down the centre of R2's body. Turning the dome over and guiding the spindle down the drive shaft. Insert the cables into the MCU, and secure with a cable tie to the motor bracket. Connect the speaker cable to the back panel, then offer it up to the frame and secure with screws. Insert the plugs (I have left these off until R2 is fully working). Take the sticker and peel backing off and open up the right hand door and attach sticker. I am still waiting on the batteries so will post a final post once R2 is fully working. Ritchie69 attached the following image(s): Completed - R2D2

So after waiting for 4 months for DeAgostini to sort out the batteries, I decided enough was enough. I ordered 6 batteries from 18650.uk and proceeded with charging them up. It took a while but I finally got there. I installed the batteries and moved R2 onto the floor before starting the process of activating the batteries. Then with fingers crossed I powered him up, and pressed the on/off button. To my surprise, the red light came on he juried forward and then moved his head right then left then back to the centre. I then connected R2 with the app and tested all controls and movements, all worked fine. I now have a fully working R2D2 unit. Completed - R2D2
