Time for another update. Issue 82, 83, 84 and 85. This was the biggest and best delivery in terms of building and progression so far, and i thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of work on the front body panel adding 2 detail compartments, the front grilles with hidden sensors, and the spacecraft linkage arms, which are fully automated! WE also get the final body panel piece that completes the bodywork for Artoo. just 1 final tool compartment to add to it. There was also more progression on the framework for the body, finishing off the final top ring complete with yet more sensors for the dome rotation, and fitting the shoulder pivot joints to attach the legs in due course. On top of all this, we also get to test all sensors and the arms to make sure everything works as it should. Lots to do this month, i really enjoyed it and im still blown away with how impressive this model is, we are now starting to get a full feel of the true size of this little droid, and small it is not! Anyway, here are my pics. enjoy! Issue 82, i had to make a slight change here. When building up the grilles with the sensors behind, i didn't like the overall look of the sensor holder behind being silver. It just didn't look right, and the sensors stood out like a sore thumb. Something had to be done, as on the movie R2 its dark behind the vents. I didn't have any black paint to hand, so i simply coloured the piece in with a black sharpie permanent marker. I also coloured the silver metal part of the sensors too, and i think the overall look is much better. semaj attached the following image(s): Building: Ghostbusters Ecto-1, Ford GT40, Gone in 60 seconds Eleanor mustang, Shelby Cobra Complete: R2D2, Red Bull RB7 RC, Battleship Bismarck, Shelby GT500 'super snake'

finally, i couldnt resist trying the logs onto the body for size. super impressed with the size of this! the box that was full of lots of little bits, is now full of lots of very large assemblies. Cant wait to get this fully assembled now - only 4 months left!!! then the fun of weathering will begin which i will keep updating my progress after the build finishes. In the meantime there are a few minor details i am going to be adding to the body compartments as i feel they are a little bit lacking. Keep an eye out! semaj attached the following image(s): Building: Ghostbusters Ecto-1, Ford GT40, Gone in 60 seconds Eleanor mustang, Shelby Cobra Complete: R2D2, Red Bull RB7 RC, Battleship Bismarck, Shelby GT500 'super snake'

Looks like you`ve been having fun with your build. Like you I can`t wait to see all the parts coming together, but I`m resisting for now (only just though)as next parts are about two weeks away. Keep up the good work, the end is not far away. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Here is the next batch of deliveries - issue 86, 87, 88 and 89. Not masses to put together this time, but lots of really large bits - Including the final tool compartment and assembling the front half of the body panels together, the base of R2s body that housed the main on/off switch and mains charging point. We also make a start on the center foot and assemble some more supporting framework for the dome which also houses a bearing from the center spindle semaj attached the following image(s): Building: Ghostbusters Ecto-1, Ford GT40, Gone in 60 seconds Eleanor mustang, Shelby Cobra Complete: R2D2, Red Bull RB7 RC, Battleship Bismarck, Shelby GT500 'super snake'
