On to Issue 5. The left seat backrest.



The instructions call for cement when attaching the seat front. However the You Tube instruction video advised this is only needed if it is a loose fit. In my case it was not so I didn't apply any glue. However there was a small gap between the chrome and the seat frame so I did apply a little superglue here.



That completed the left seat backrest.

On a separate note I am beginning to stockpile a few screws from this build. I came across a great idea for storing these on another part of this site.



A pill box. €1.99 in a local Eurozone (same as Poundland) shop. Each day conveniently numbered 1 to 4 for screws MD01 to MD04 etc.

Be careful, there are actually more then hardware labeled MD01 through MD06. There are also some labeled with an MP and a number. I don't know how many different there are and I have already gotten a few mixed up because I didn't notice this sooner. I have them in labeled zip locks but it's gotten to the part where the MP and MD ones are mixed. Luckily I haven't needed any of the spares yet. I also don't open them up till I need them unlike the Falcon were I opened them all up and put them all together of the same type.

Good to know, thanks. At the moment I have MD01 - MD04 in the first column (Monday) and MP01 in the second (Tuesday). I'll keep a close eye on these.

Great work so far.

You'll find there are MP & MD type screws.

MP Self Tapers with wide open threads
MD Machined Threads tight together

I forget how many of each there are off the top of my head, I believe 1-8 for MD and 1-6 MP, would need to check that to be certain though

Issue 6 was a little more tricky and unfortunately I forgot to take pictures as I went along.



The exhaust fit does seem a little loose. However that should resolve itself when it's attached to the chassis.

Final update for the night is the start of issue 8. For now I have just painted the brake caliper.

Issue 9 - Left door, handle and side mirror.

As the title suggests we are moving on to the left door now. That is the theme for the next couple of issues aswell.



Fairly straightforward. The mirror is attached by 2 MD05 screws whilst the handles uses a single MP02 screw. Both items were slotted through gaps in the door and screwed toether on the inside of the door which make them nice and secure.



Excuse the poor focus on that last shot.

Issue 10 - Left window and door hinge.

Continuing with the left door we are now looking to attach the window and hinge.



As before the window is fixed from the inside of the door. On this occasion with 3 MD05 screws. Part of me wanted to cut the window out so the finished model will have this open. However I soon decided against this. The frame is too delicate and the door can be opened anyway.



The hinge is rested in place and held there by attaching a plate which require 1 MD06 screw.



The hinge should be able to move freely back and forth.

Issue 11 - Left door trim and fittings.

This will finish off the left door.



First up is to attach the lower panel.



The door handle is then placed into its mount which is then screwed into the door.





The window crank is then put in place (it can only sit in one position? to be screwed in. I found this easier to do by applying a small bit of masking tape to hold it in place while I turned the piece round to insert the screw.



Finally the trim is added to the previously made door. It is fastened with two MP06 screws (although the packet I got said MD06 but they were smaller than the previous MD06 screws I got so I assume it's just mislabelled). The screws are covered by a silver panel.



That finishes a nicely busier issue 11.

Issue 12 - Left Seat



We are back to stage 5 for this issue to complete the left seat. This time we are putting the seat base together with the backrest.



The seat is able to operate in two positions.
