Issue 13 - Right door, handle and side mirror.

These next 3 issues are the same as issues 9 to 11 for the opposing door. Therefore I won't post too many pictures as the build is the same.

Issue 14 - Right window and door hinge.

Just when I thought these were going to be 3 straightforward issues I hit upon a small problem. The mirror handle managed to detach itself from the window.

It seems to be attached in the first picture. However when I look to reattach it the hole in the handle is too small or the fixture it should attach to is too big. It should look like this:

I decided to drill the hole and superglue it to the window.

That's where I've left it for now. I want to let this set for a while before attaching the widow to the door.

Issue 15 - Right Door.

Again this is just like the left door so I wasn't going to post any progress pictures.

However. When screwing in a very small screw to keep the door handle in place the screw itself snapped. I couldn't remove it but needed to prop up the handle mount. I tried to remove the broken screw but no such luck. So I improvised.

I must say I enjoy this kind of work where I have to fix a problem.

After that the door went together nicely just like the left door.

Issue 16 - Right Seat Backrest

This is the same as the left seat so nothing new to post here about the build of it.

So that is me caught up with the build. I still have to read the last 4 magazines though which I am enjoying.

Issue 17 - The Rear Chassis and Issue 18 - The Fuel Tank

Pretty much nothing to do with these two issues. For the rear chassis I'm making sure the exhaust put together in issue 6 fits.

For the fuel tank I make sure it fits the chassis.

Neither parts are attached just yet.

Issue 19 - Fuel tank lid and filler pipe

Now I get to make use of the rear chassis and fuel tank from Issues 17 and 18.

The fuel tank lid, like the fuel tank itself is clicked into place on either side of the chassis. Screws are then put in each corner of the fuel tank lid securing it to the fuel tank.

Issue 20 - The Right Seat

Now I can complete the right seat started in a previous issue. Obviously this is the same as the left seat was put together.

Things are starting to take shape quite nicely. Not wanting to wish my life away I look forward to 4 more issues next month.

Greetings!

It's been a while since I had the chance to do anything with the Mustang. In the meantime the magazines have been piling up and I'm now up to Issue 52.

So last weekend I spent a very enjoyable few hours playing catch up. I didn't photograph the progress as that would have taken too long. But here is where I am, just past the half way stage.

The only issue I really had was with the seatbelts. When trying to squeeze one through the gap in the floor I managed to break the unseen buckle. This was remedied with Super-Glue.

So this is where I am at. I must say I liked going through a large number of issues like that. However you need to set aside a lot of time to do it.

It's great to get an idea of the size of the vehicle.

Looking forward to the next 4 issues and hopefully I'll be able to get round to them more quickly. In the meantime I have 32 issues of R2-D2 to catch up on!

Looking good. I just started back on mine and trying find time to work on it. I got issues 33-36 being assembled. Issues 37-40 in the display case at the museum and issues 41-44 sitting in a box at home.

Almost 10 months on...

Thanks for the kind comments folks.

I have moved up as far as completing issue 69. Was going to make a good stab at it today but unfortunately I was hindered...

I hope to have more done over the coming days!

Greetings!

I am now 80% done.

I can now start working on the shell of the car as that is the interior and engine complete. Unfortunately I am having trouble with DeAgostini get a couple of issues so I can't quite finish this yet.
