Hi Roy

Yes the seat back is padded and made of the same leather as the seat cushion

It looks to me like the leather on the seat back gets covered by the plastic of the support. I presume this is correct, but must admit, I hoped that the back of the seat would be leather showing. (Admittedly, I don't know what the real car was like, nor do I know if there is a further part to come that will cover this.)

Can anyone please enlighten me?

Build the Jaguar E-Type, part 12

Parts with Issue 12

Engine block and clutch bellhousing (right side)
Starter Motor
Distributor

This issue gives you the option to paint the engine block black and gold to more accurately match the original. I have decided against doing this for several reasons. it wont be very visible and the people I will show it too wouldn't know the difference anyway and I'm scared I will make a mess of it.

So, first take the starter motor and push it into the hole behind the clutch bellhousing. secure from beneath with a single screw. (picture 2)

next take the distributor and push it into the hole at the indicated and secure from beneath with a single screw (picture 3)

Next take the carburettor assembly from the previous 2 issues and, making sure the alignment is correct, push the 2 lugs in the assembly into the corresponding 3 holes at the top of the engine block. secure with 3 screws. (picture 4)

Parts with issue 13

Engine block with clutch housing (left side)
filter head and hose
Battery box

Again we have the option to pain the other half of the engine but again I'm not going too.

Take the assembly from issue 12 and the Filter head from this issue and push it into the indicated hole. Secure from behind with a single screw. (picture 2)

Take the battery box and the other half of the engine block and fit the battery box into position as shown. secure with a single screw (picture 3)
