hi to all, just thought id dig out my pocher model which has been unfinised for the last 10years. the dust was thick. id forgotten how heavy it was as well. the detail isnt as good as what the mclaren's going to be but they do some serious transkits. the one for the porsche makes it into a gt3 which looks awsome.i still have the box and all the bits and i may even start it again.Laugh

I once saw a friends Pocher kit, for the life of me I can't remember what kit it was, but it was an old 1930's Bentley style car.

I remember him showing me the engine, which actually had movable pistons which you could see, as the cylinder head could come off, the seats had proper material and were even sprung, it was an amazing kit, but he never did anything with it. i've no idea where he is now or if he ever finished it, but always thought it would be great to be able to build a kit of that quality
Come on you Jimmies

This kit is really good, it has fabric carpets, seat belts, plus full engine, but the engine dosnt have any moving parts. The chassis is metal, but the body is plastic. The other modern cars pocher did ( Ferrari f40, testerossa) have metal bodies. The Porsche was the last model that pocher did. Some of them go for good money on eBay. Revell do a few good 1:8 kits too, there is a 1:8 e- type on eBay at the moment, looks like a nice model.

I have built several Pocher kits, Porsche 911, Alfa 8200c, Bugatti T50, Mercedes 500k, and I can honestly say they are a nightmare considering the prices asked per kit. Riverossi who produced Pocher went out of businees years ago. I still have the 911 and when I find out an easy way of getting my pictures onto this site I will show you what its like if anybody is interested. I have also built several 1/8 E-type Jaguars, a lovely kit but needs a lot of work, though having got an additional set of discs for the Mclaren they will do nicely for the E-type.

Thats very interesting Hornby seem to own half of the modelling world. Maybe they will reissue after cleaning up the moulds

I got my pocher kit about 12 years ago and it's still not finished. Very sad I know. I thinking of putting it on eBay, the wife nags me to death to get rid of it, so I think is gonna go. You can get a really cool after Market kit to turn it into a gt3, the pics look sooo amazing.
