Arkady Rzegocki is to visit former RAF Ingram today, to open a heritage centre at the home of the Polish Bomber Squadrons.
A dedicated team of volunteers launched six years ago to honour the crews from 199 RAF and 3005 and 305 Polish Air Force squadrons have reached a major milestone in their determined fight. Two Polish squadrons were based at RAF Ingham north of Lincoln for two years from 1942 to 1944 during which time no less than 166 aviators from Poland, the UK and Allied countries gave their lives flying missions from the base.
