Issue 16

Contents: Passenger Door, Door Handle, Screw.

Match the large and small lugs on the back of the handle to the two holes in the door,pressing the handle firmly into place. Take a screw and drive it into the hole in the larger lug on the door handle, being careful not to overtighten it.

This issue is now complete. Carefully store the assembly and any unused parts in an Issue labelled bag.

Issue 17

Contents: Passenger door window, hinge, hinge retainer,screws.

Take the door from stage 16 and align the window as instructed.Fit the three holes in the bottom of the window over the three mounting holes in the door.Drive a screw into the end and centre mounting hole, but do not tighten them fully.Fix a third screw into the remaining hole, then tighten all three fixings fully.

Align the hinge with the end of the door as shown. Make sure the two fixing posts are angled in the direction shown here.Press the hinge pin into the channel moulded in the door. Noting the two locating pins fit the hinge retainer over the hinge pin, pressing the two holes onto the locating pins.Tighten a screw into the central hole to keep the hinge retainer and the hinge itself in place.

Test that the hinge pivots smoothly back and forth.

This issue is now complete.  Store the assembly and any unused parts in an issue labelled bag.

Issue 18

Contents:  Passenger door trim surround, Passenger door trim panel,Passenger door handle,Passenger window regulator handle,Chrome finisher (upper),Chrome finisher (lower),Arm rest,Screws

Take the door  trim surround and align it with the door assembly from issue 17.Press the trim surround into the matching recess in the door, aligning the four fixing holes indicated. Drive a screw into each of the four fixing holes to secure
the trim surround to the door.Take the door trim panel and the arm rest and press the arm rest into these two holes, ensuring it is the correct way up,turning the assembly over and using screws to fix the arm rest in place.

Fit the door handle into the hole closest to the arm rest, noting that the lug only allows it to fit the correct way up, turn the assembly over and screw the handle in place.
Fit the window regulator handle into the remaining hole, noting that the lug only allows it to fit the correct way up,turn the assembly over and screw the handle in place.
The completed trim panel should have both of the handles pointing down, and the tan side of the arm rest facing upwards.

Align the trim panel with the door assembly, noting the four mounting slots indicated, fitting the tabs on the back of the trim panel into the four slots and pressing it  into place.
Align the lower chrome finisher with the long channel below the trim panel, fitting the three tabs on the finisher into the slots and press the finisher firmly into place. Repeat this with the upper chrome finisher.

This issue is now complete.  Store the assembly and any unused parts in an issue labelled bag.

Contents:  Right-hand inner side member


This issue brings you the first part of the tubular subframe that supports the engine and front suspension. There is no assembly to do at this point, but you will complete the subframe over the next six issues.

Shown is how the inner side member provided with this issue (highlighted in light green) will fit into  the rest of the subframe.

Also pictured is how the front frame cradles the engine. The rear ends of the inner side members are attached to the front bulkhead.

Issue 20

Contents:  Right upper wishbone, right lower wishbone, right suspension upright, screws.

Take the inner side member from Stage 19, noting the two pivot holes, line up the lower wishbone with the side member, fitting the pin projecting from the lower wishbone into the hole on the right.
Holding the lower wishbone in place, line up the upper wishbone with the side member and fit the pin projecting from the upper wishbone into the hole on the left.

Take the suspension upright and hold it as shown, fit the two pivot holes over the pins projecting from the two wishbones and press the suspension upright fully into place, aligning the fixing holes with the matching holes in the side member. Fit two of the screws provided into the holes to hold the suspension upright in place, tightening both screws fully, then checking that both wishbones are able to pivot freely.

This issue is now complete.  Store the assembly and any unused parts in an issue labelled bag.
