I am still planking the bow and am only on part 36. On bending the planks round the bow I have had to fit 2 droppers up to now and the last 3 planks have only needed tapering but the last one I tried looked as if it didn't need tapering at all. My question is, Is it possible for this to happen or have I dropped a gooly, of which I have dropped many. Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks guys
shane.

Hi Wallace,
It's difficult to say without a pic. However, if she lies flat without tapering then it's probably OK.

Every hull is different and every plank an individual so there are no predictions as to how you will need to do yours. Practice makes perfect and increases confidence. Victory is only my second build and the single planking worked out better than the thinner double planking on the first. The second planking I soaked and removed after doing about half one side and redid it. Did I mention perseverance?BigGrin

Good luck and don't forget if it's not clinkering it's better than some, although these thick planks will take a bit of sanding to smooth off minor clinkering. In 1 or 2 spots I laid another short length of plank against the raised edge and then planed and sanded back until flush and virtually invisible. I only did this where the clinkered edge was over 0.5mm above the next plank as this would have entailed a lot of sanding and risked over thinning the surrounding planks.

I hope this will be of some help.
